About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Java Scala Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a senior associate with a strong background in Java Server Side Concurrent Programming and Spring Boot. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing high-performance data solutions, leveraging modern orchestration frameworks and AI tooling to accelerate the software development lifecycle. This position requires an immediate start and offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain server-side applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement message-based architectures using MQ or Kafka.
• Utilize modern orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes.
• Write and optimize complex database queries.
• Develop Unix/Linux scripts using Shell or Python for automation.
• Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and optimize systems.
• Ensure adherence to full software development lifecycle practices and industry-standard development practices.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Continuously improve workflow by actively using AI tools like Claude, Amp, and Deep Search.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Java Server Side Concurrent Programming with Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of message-based architectures (MQ/Kafka).
• Familiarity with modern orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes.
• Competence in database technologies and complex query writing.
• Experience with Unix/Linux scripting using Shell or Python.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Interest in learning the business supported by the applications.
• Experience with AI tooling to enhance the software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Functional Programming concepts and Scala collections.
• Experience with Akka, Play Framework, or similar Scala-based frameworks.
• Knowledge of the Equity Derivative business.
• Experience with cloud offerings such as Azure or AWS.
